The Immaculate Conception Preparatory School (ICPS) accepts applications at any time throughout the year. An application form must be completed and submitted to the Main Office between 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays, beginning the third week of each term.
Applications forms are available at the school’s Main Office or can be accessed here. Applications cannot be submitted online. Application forms must be filled out, signed and dated by a parent or legal guardian (documents of guardianship must be attached) and submitted to the Main Office for processing. A non-refundable application fee of $1000 is required for all applicants. Applications will not be processed until the required fee is paid (cash only) and the form is dated.
Please note that the completion of an application form does not guarantee that a space will be offered. If there is no space available at the time of application, the student’s name is placed on a waiting list for the appropriate grade level.
Parents or guardians are encouraged to pay attention to the fact that ICPS is a Roman Catholic School and as such, will celebrate various religious occasions and also hold events on Saturday. Participation is expected from all registered students.
Students entering Kindergarten 1 must have their fourth birthday by December 31 of the year they are to enter. Applications are processed in order of submission dates at the end of January/early February preceding the applicable academic year. Successful applicants are called to confirm whether or not they are still desirous of the space. If not, the next applicant in line will be called.
Following confirmation from the parent or guardian, an official advisory is mailed to them or can be collected from the Main Office. A non-refundable retainer fee is then required which is a percentage of the current school fee. The balance becomes due in June on a date specified by the school, and is payable by Manager’s cheque.
No documents are required until the child is accepted. Upon acceptance, the following must be submitted:
Updated Immunization Card;
Two current passport sized photographs (not baby photographs);
Orientation for Kindergarten 1 takes place during Summer School.
Kindergarten 2 through Grade 6
For Kindergarten 2 and onward, all children seeking admission are assessed for readiness for the grade in which they are applying. In the case of transfers, parents are required to indicate the reason for transfer in writing. Report cards from previous schools will be required and ICPS may also make contact with the previous school for any further information deemed necessary.
It is the policy of the school that fees should be paid before the start of each term. School fees may be paid at any branch of Scotiabank Jamaica Limited. Vouchers stamped by the bank as paid must be submitted to the Main Office on specified days. Fees may also be paid at school by debit or credit card (VISA or Mastercard only). Cash payments are NOT accepted by the school.
Parents must provide one term’s notice, in writing before withdrawing a child from the school. Otherwise, the parent or guardian is liable to pay a term’s fee in lieu of notice.
